Star Trek: The Original Series- Part-1

Star trek started its journey with its first TV series named “Star Trek: The Original Series” which is known as “TOS” in September 8, 1966.

And It was named “Star Trek” first. Later it has changed into “Star Trek: The Original Series” to distinguish between the series name and the creator.

Production: TOS was aired on NBC(National Broadcasting Company) which is an American broadcasting Television network. This television series was produced by “Desilu Productions” from 1966 to 1967. And from 1968 to 1969 it’s produced by “Paramount Television”. Due to low Nielsen Rating NCB cancelled this series to broadcast.

The Art Director Matt Jefferies designed the Starship Enterprise of Star Trek. His works in this series were honored by the name “Jefferies Tube”. He and his brother John Jefferies developed the set design for the bridge of the Enterprise. Bill Theiss was the Costume designer of Star Trek: The Original Series. He created the striking look of the Starfleet Uniforms for the Enterprise. Wah Chang was the Artist & Sculptor who had created so many aliens like the Gorn and the Horta.

• William Shatner: William Shatner acted as Captain James T. Kirk. Who is commanding officer of the USS Enterprise in this series.
• Majel Barrett: Barrett acted as Nruse Christine Chapel. Who is the first officer of the Ship in “The Cage” & also voiced the Computer of the Ship.
• Leonard Nimoy: Leonard Nimoy acted as Lieutenant Commander known as Commander Spock. Who is second commanding officer and also Science Officer of the ship.
  N.B. Leonard Nilmoy is originally an Pilot in real life appeared in this series.
• James Doohan: James Doohan acted as Lieutenant Commander Montgomery Scoot, known as Scotty. Who is the third commanding officer and also Chief Engineer as well.
• Nichelle Nichols: Nichelle Nichols acted as Lieutenant Nyota Uhura. Who is the communication officer.
• DeForest Kelley: DeForest Kelley acted as Doctor Leonard McCoy, also known as Bones. Who is the Chief Medical officer of the Ship. He is also carried rank of Lt. Commander in this series.
• George Takei: George Takei acted as Lieutenant Hikaru Sulu. Who is a Helmsman throughout the series.
• Walter Keonig: Walter Keonig Acted as Ensign Pavel Chekov. He is appeared in the second session in this series.
• Grace Lee Whitney: Whitney acted as Janice Rand. She is the Captain’s yeoman(US Navy).
