Are you safe in the age of Science and Technology?

We live in an age of science and technology. Directly or indirectly we are depended on the technology. Internet is one of the bold examples of science and technology field. Almost one third of the total population of the world, depend on the internet and this rate is increasing every day.

In Bangladesh, millions of people use internet daily. From a grade l kid to a head of a company uses this magnificent feature of modern technology. With internet, we can do lot of stuffs by few clicks. Students are getting their academic results and other instructions sitting home with internet. On the other hand, a housewife can buy her household stuffs from her bedroom by using internet. Actually there are hundreds of advantages of internet that people are enjoying without any hassle.

What I am more concerned with the whole thing is the security. Are we really safe? Sad but true is, we are surrounded by great dangers. The more facilities we are enjoying, the more security concern raises. First of all, we need to know what are the things that we need to remember to prevent cyber crimes. In addition to this, we should have clear conception what we doing on internet to make sure that we are not being cheated by anyone. Among them, I would like to discuss about few major issues.

E-mail is one of the most common terms by which people being cheated. Now, question is how? Well, many of us have already seen there are some mails come from a reputed company’s server that inform us similar to this “you are awarded with $ 1 million”. Although it’s an old trick to make someone fool, many of us have already suffered from those tricks. However, I want to let you know that we should be little bit conscious about the whole thing. We should think that we cannot be awarded with a large amount without doing anything. So, we should not follow the instructions to get the award. Thus, there would be no chance to be cheated. All we need to do is, whatever we do on net, we should conscious before making a single click!

Internet banking or E-commerce is also a great issue to be careful with. In current days, it’s an easy medium for hackers to fool innocent people. They apply different and unique tricks to gain their desired information. As a result, all of us who use credit cards, must be aware of their activities on the net. In this regard, experts always suggest to follow the instructions given by the card providers to avoid cheating.

Another important matter is, signing up in anonymous websites. Those sites always ask for valid mail ids. Sometimes, they ask for mail password too. Because, by accessing to someone’s personal mail inbox, hackers can get important information or even can get whole date of that pc. So, it’s really important not to give password to any site. In addition to this, we should be careful when signing up in anonymous sites.
