XDMAN alternative of IDM for Linux or Ubuntu

XDMAN or Xtreme Download Manager alternative of IDM/Internet Download Manager for Linux or Ubuntu

There is no alternative of IDM; IDM is IDM. But there is no Linux version of IDM is available. You can install it using Wine in Linux but that won't work properly.

So we got XDMAN which is more or less similar to IDM. Lets see where you'll find it and how to install it.

**At first confirm yourself that you have java installed in your linux platform. If Java is not installed then please Install Java first. Check this post: Install JDK & Netbeans on Linux/Ubuntu

1# Then go to https://www.dropbox.com/s/etoc4yqfl60eiqy/xdman.zip to download XDMAN Download Manager.

2# When download completed, unzip it and keep it in Desktop.

3# Open Terminal and type cd  and drag that folder & drop it in the terminal.

4# After that type the following command to install it.

java -jar xdman.jar

5# Now you'll see a shortcut file named "Xtreme Download Manager" is created in the unzipped folder. Copy that file and paste into ".local/share/application"
To do this type following command from Terminal(make sure that you're in home directory on Terminal):

nautilus .local/share/applications

6# Run xdman(you'll find it in DashHome on Ubuntu and in Internet>xdman on Linux) and goto Tools/Browser Integration/monitor all Brower tab and check "Run on startup" & "Advanced browser integration."

7# When you've checked Advancer browser integration, you'll be asked to do some task. Do that.

Proxy Address will be: http://localhost:9614/proxy.pac

That's all

Enjoy! :-)
