Repair Ubuntu after Installing/Reinstalling/Updating other OSs

Are you using Ubuntu and Windows or Other OS as Dual Boot? And after having problem on other OS or Windows, you've reinstall Windows or that OS again and the Ubuntu is disappeared from your Boot Menu? This post may help You get rid of it.
You can do it with the help of Boot Repair Disk software. :-)



This process is required Internet Connection.
  • At first boot your Computer with live-CD or live-USB. You can make a live-USB by yourself using Ubuntu ISO file with the help of Universal USB Installer. Click here to see the process of making live-USB.
  • Now Choose Try Ubuntu from Boot Menu.
  • Connect Internet on your Computer.
  • Open Terminal. You can press ALT + CTRL + T to open Terminal in shortcut.
  • Type the Following Commands in sequence-

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:yannubuntu/boot-repair && sudo apt-get update

Hit Enter. It'll take sometime because of downloading Boot Repair Disk software.
After finishing download process, Type the following command-

sudo apt-get install -y boot-repair && (boot-repair &)

Hit Enter. Boot Repair software will run automatically. If not then type boot-repair in Terminal to run it.
Now click on the Recommended repair button, as it shown in below image.


Now the repair process will start. Don't close that window until it finished the Repair process. After finished the repair process, an URL like this --> (paste.ubuntu.com/XXXXX) will appear on screen and will tell you to reboot your computer.

Reboot/Restart your computer. And see what happens! Ubuntu is appeared again in your Boot Screen.. :-) That's it.......... Stay with Us.
